Paul Albert Mitchell

OI1636591394_MitchellphotoPaul Albert Mitchell, age 84, of Hyde Avenue Ridgway, Pa, went to be with his family in heaven on January 1, 2015.

He died at Highland View Health Care Center in Brockway. He was born in Cloe, Pa; on March 8, 1930 to the late Paul W. and Hazel M. Johnson Mitchell. He was married on June 25th to Doris Virginia Cook who preceded him in death on November 26, 2011.

Retired, he was a self-employed lumberman/logger. Paul was one of two, last surviving founding members, of the Church of the Nazarene in Ridgway. His greatest enjoyment came from being in the outdoors spending time with his grandchildren. Paul will be greatly missed by all.

He is survived by two daughters: Debra Jean Merritt and Grace Ellen Tripodi and one son: Steven Lee Mitchell. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren: Michael, Aaron, Matt, Andrew, Bobby, Tammy, Billy, Zeke, Rick, Donna, Katie, Kristen, Emily, Steven and Alyssa and 20 great grandchildren: Alayna, Tyler, Alex, Lillian, Logan, Paige, Alexis, Riquel, Francis, Jordan, Riley, Bailey, Aiden, Courtney, Caleb, Emma, Cole, Josie, Lydia and Hank.

addition to his parents and his wife he is also preceded in death by a son Paul L. Mitchell, a son-in-law Stephen F. Merritt, a daugher-in-law Lizbeth Mitchell, a brother Lloyd Mitchell, two sisters: Sara Platt and Edna Mae Nero.

Calling hours will be on Sunday, January 4 from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 5th at 11:00 A.M. also at the funeral home with Pastor David Nagele officiating. Burial will follow in the Frostburg Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the Hahne Cancer Center or the Brockway Church of God or the Church of the Nazarene in Ridgway.
