Paul E. Uplinger

Paul E. Uplinger age 88 of Route 219 Brockport, Pa; died on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at his residence.

Born in Brookville, Pa; on January 31, 1927 he was the son of the late Fred and Edith McAdoo Uplinger.

On April 21, 1951 he was married to Lucile Whamond and they enjoyed 63 years together.

Retired, Paul was employed at Brockway Glass for 40 years and at his retirement was a Production Staff Specialist.

He was Presbyterian by faith and was a U.S. Navy WWII veteran.

He was a member of Elk Lodge #379 Free and Accepted Masons where he was a 32 degree member as well as a Past Master.

He just received his degree for 60 years of membership in the Masonic Lodge. He also was a member of the Coudersport Consistory, Parson-Marnatti Post #95 of the American Legion and was a member of the Horton Twp. Sportsmens Club.

Paul enjoyed playing golf and traveling with Lucile.

He also enjoyed fishing for trout in the special streams of Pennsylvania.

In addition to his wife he is also survived by two sisters: Phyllis Anderson of Brockway; Jean Siple of Minnesota and a son-in-law Jack Dobmeier also of Minnesota as well as many nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents he is also preceded in death by a daughter Bonnie Jean Dobmeier; four sisters: Mary Huffman, Evelyn Richards, Alice Sweet, Janie Holt and three brothers: Wayne, Fred and Earl Uplinger.

Calling hours will be on Friday, February 27 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. and on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway.

The funeral service will be at 12:00 noon Saturday, at the funeral home with Pastor Dave Nagele officiating. Burial will follow in the Earleyville Cemetery. A Masonic Service will he conducted on Friday evening at the funeral home at 7:30 P.M.
