Paul F. Lyle

Lyle, PaulgPaul F. Lyle, age ­­­­81, of Millcreek, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his family.
He was born in Brockway PA on June 23, 1934, a son of the late Paul C. Lyle and Mary Taylor Lyle Saunders.

Paul graduated from Brockway High School in 1953 and went on to serve in the United States Army.

He had a successful career in outside sales before retiring from Snap-On Tools. Post retirement, Paul worked part time for Erie International Airport Operations.

He was a member of the American Legion Post #773.

Paul enjoyed all sports, particularly football. He played semi-pro football for the Lake Erie Lakers and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He also enjoyed hunting and later in life, golfing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Maryann Gallup and Patsy Lou Porrin and a granddaughter, Lauren.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Shirley Yazvac Lyle; four daughters, Stacey (Hal) Bertrand, Lynne Lyle Johnson, Valerie Lyle, and Christine (Albert) Rush; eight grandchildren, Jamie (Justin), Lopatynski Kristin (Daniel) Isaacson, Bryan, Sarah, Allison, Abigail, Annabelle and Mason Joseph; four great-grandchildren, Addyson and Camden, Rilyn and Mason; a brother, Robert Lyle and his wife Rita and a sister, Lori (Patrick) Quinlan. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews

Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home 3801 W. 26th Street (at Powell Ave) on Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and are invited to attend a service there on Saturday at 12 noon with full Military Honors.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Regional Home Health and Hospice 2564 Village Common Drive, Erie, PA 16506, St. Julia Roman Catholic Church, 638 Roslyn Ave, Erie, PA 16505, or the Humane Society of Northwest PA 2407 Zimmerly Rd, Erie, PA 16509.
