Paul L. DeFoor, Jr.

Paul L. DeFoor, Jr., 78, of Mayport (North Freedom) died Saturday morning, November 12, 2016 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Born January 20, 1938 in Punxsutawney he was the son of the late Paul L. Sr. and Florence (Kuntz) DeFoor.

He was married on June 16, 1961 to Audrey S. (Hinderliter) for 55 years and she survives.

Paul served our country for the United States Air Force from 1956 to 1960 and joined the reserves until 1963. Paul worked as a lineman and repairman for Citizens Utilities. He was a member of the NRA and the Walston Club.

He is survived by two sons, Terry P. DeFoor and his wife Jayme of Ringgold and Corey M. DeFoor and his wife Mary of Punxsutawney, three grandchildren, Shania DeFoor, David DeFoor and Jacob DeFoor, a sister, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. at the Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn, with Pastor Ken Duffee officiating. Immediately following the funeral service the Walter W. Craig Post 354 American Legion of New Bethlehem will honor their fallen comrade.

Interment will be in the North Freedom Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Paul’s name to the North Freedom Reach Out or the North Freedom United Methodist Church, 5748 Route 28, Mayport, Pa. 16240.
