Born on June 16, 1946 in Brookville, she was the daughter of the late Pearl and Katherine Lowery Dinger.
Jeannie was a 1965 graduate of Brookville Area High School. She was married to Gerald “Jerry” Mills in Hagerstown, MD on August 17, 1973. He preceded her in death on May 12, 2002. She was employed as a secretary at Penn Separator Corp. and Beverage Air. In her younger years she enjoyed bowling and bowled in several leagues. She was an avid reader.
She is survived by her daughter, Michele (John) Becker of Brookville, a brother John (Janet) Dinger of Brookville, two sisters; Nancy (Jack) Williams of Tionesta, PA, and Kaye (Travis) Harwood of Providence Forge, VA. Also surviving are two grandsons, Zack Hughey of Reynoldsville, and Ryan (Alanna) Hughey of Troutville, PA, three nephews; Ashton, John, Perry; and four nieces; Rosanne, Ashley, Debi, and Diana.
Along with her parents and husband she is preceded in death by a brother Richard “Dick” Dinger and nephew Doug Williams.
Her family will receive friends on Tuesday March 22, 2016 from 2 – 4 pm and 6 – 8 pm and Wednesday March 23, 2016 from 10 – 11 am at the Furlong Funeral Home, (www.furlongfuneralhome.com), Gregory K. Furlong FD, corner of Broad St. and First Ave., Summerville, PA. The funeral service will follow at 11 am with Rev. James Dietrich officiating.
Interment will be in Vandervort Cemetery, Clover Twp. Jefferson Co.
