Police: Punxsy Woman Crashes into Healthcare Building

police-car-woodsREYNOLDSVILLE BORO, Pa. (EYT) – Dubois-based State Police responded to a one-vehicle accident on N. Third St. in Reynoldsville Boro, Jefferson County.

Police say 77-year-old Betty J. Buffington, of Punxsutawney, was exiting N. Third St. into the parking lot of Penn Highlands Healthcare at 5 N. Third St. around 7:49 a.m. on May 23.

Buffington pulled her vehicle into a parking space, failed to put the vehicle in park, drove over two curbs and struck the outside of the building.

Part of the outside brick wall and interior wall of Penn Highlands Healthcare sustained damage.

Buffington’s 2005 Honda Civic sustained damage to the front end.

Buffington was using a seat belt during the accident and was not injured.

She was charged with careless driving.
