Penn State 12th in First College Football Rankings

INDIANAPOLIS (EYT) – Penn State is 12th in the first College Football Rankings released Tuesday.

The 6-2 Nittany Lions, who are ranked 20th in the AP Poll and 23rd in the Coaches Poll are just outside the Top 10 in the only poll that really matters, the one used to determine the Football Final Four.

Three unbeaten teams sit at the top of the rankings with Alabama (8-0) at No. 1 followed by Clemson (8-0) and Michigan (8-0). Texas A&M currently holds the fourth spot at 7-1 ahead of unbeaten Washington (8-0), who is in at No. 5. Ohio State (7-1) is No. 6, Louisville (7-1) is No. 7, Wisconsin (6-2) comes in at No. 8 followed by Auburn (6-2) at No. 9 and Nebraska (7-1) at No. 10. Florida (6-1) is just ahead of Penn State at No. 11 with LSU (5-2) right behind the Nittany Lions at No. 13.
