Penn State Coaching Staff to Conduct Football Spring Chalk Talk April 6-7


UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State head coach James Franklin and his staff will welcome high school and middle school coaches for the Penn State Football Spring Chalk Talk, set for April 6-7 on the University Park campus.

The keynote speaker for the clinic is former Penn State head coach and current Houston Texans head coach Bill O’Brien.

Chalk Talk attendees will have an opportunity to observe one of the Nittany Lions’ drill-heavy spring practices and attend several chalk talk sessions. On the evening of Friday, April 6, attendees will have dinner with the opportunity to talk football and socialize with the Penn State coaching staff.

In addition to chalk talk sessions with the Penn State coaching staff, O’Brien and 2017 NCAA Division II Co-National Coach of the Year Paul Tortorella of IUP will address the clinic participants.

Coaches interested in attending the Penn State Spring Chalk Talk can register or get more information by visiting the Penn State Sport Camps Website. Event check-in begins at 2 p.m. in Holuba Hall with the first chalk talk session beginning at 3 p.m. Walk-up registration is also permitted.

The two-day Spring Chalk Talk costs $40 per person and includes instruction, Friday’s dinner, social and continental breakfast.

Penn State returns 13 starters (8 offensive, 3 defensive, 2 specialists) and 26 additional lettermen. The Nittany Lions open the season at Beaver Stadium against Appalachian State September 1.
