PennDOT Spring Cleanup Dates Scheduled

In an effort to improve the environment and clean up our area’s roadways, PennDOT employees and maintenance crews throughout District 10’s five counties are scheduled to pick up litter over the coming weeks.

Here is the tentative schedule, by county:

Armstrong County – April 28
Butler County – April 21
Clarion County – Cleanup was scheduled for April 9
Indiana County – April 21
Jefferson County – April 22

There are no anticipated lane closures during these cleanup activities; however, motorists are asked to be aware of this work and to slow down while traveling on the designated routes.

These are the schedules as planned, but may change based on the weather.

In addition, 383 family, school, community, corrections and service groups are involved in litter cleanup several times each year through the Adopt-A-Highway (AAH) program. These groups have “adopted” 785 miles of state highway for cleanup.

Groups interested in adopting a section of highway are encouraged to contact their local PennDOT county maintenance office and ask for the AAH coordinator. In Armstrong County, the number is 724-543-1811. In Butler County, the number is 724-284-8800. In Clarion County, the number is 814-226-8200. In Indiana County, the number is 724-357-281, and the number in Jefferson County is 814-938-6300. Or, you may visit www.dot.state.pa.us.
