Perry Wendell Raybuck

OI303113913_PRaybuckPhotoPerry Wendell Raybuck, 98, of Brockway, died Friday, November 14, 2014 at home with his family.

Born September 26, 1916 in Sugar Hill, he was the son of the late Fred and Flora (Penfield) Raybuck.

He met his first love, Dorothy Marie Himes in 1941 and they were engaged before Perry left to serve his country in WWII where he belonged to Battery B, 724th AAA Gun Battery. Perry served in England, Ireland, North Africa, Italy, France, and Germany from 1941-1945. When he returned from active duty, he and Dorothy were married on November 28, 1945. Perry was a farmer and also worked for 36 years at Brockway Glass. Perry is survived by his wife, Dorothy; four children: Edward Irvine (Kay) Raybuck, Nancy Elaine (Richard) Moore, Barbara Jane (Rodney) Beers, and Paul Alvin (Mary) Raybuck. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren including baby P, due in January 2015. Perry was preceded in death by his brothers, John Blaine Raybuck and Edward Everett Raybuck as well as his sisters, Dorothy L. MacCleary, and Dora B. Holt.

Perry enjoyed his garden, the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers, and most of all, spending time with his family. He was a member of the Hazen United Methodist Church, and he was a member of the American Legion for more than 70 years.

Viewing will be from 2-4 and 7-9 on Sunday, November 16 at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home in Brockway. The funeral will be at 11:00 on Monday, November 17 in the funeral home with Pastor Donald Henderson officiating. Full Military Honors will be conducted by the Brockway American Legion, Post 95. Burial will follow at Beechwoods Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the Hazen United Methodist Church.
