Phyllis M. Thompson

Phyllis M. Thompson, age 92, of Knox, passed away Tuesday afternoon, August 18, 2015.

Born November 21, 1922 in Brockway, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Margaret Archibald Fiddler.

She married George Thompson on February 20, 1946 and he preceded her in death on February 20, 1991.

Mrs. Thompson was a 1st grade teacher in the Keystone School District, retiring after 27 ½ years of service and was a member of the St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Knox.

Survivors include two sons: David Thompson and his partner, Patricia Coull, of Knox and Steven Thompson and his partner, Beth Wyman, also of Knox; one granddaughter, Joni Jacocks and her husband, Todd, of Oxford; one great grandson, Parker and one brother, Jerry Fiddler and his wife, Beth, of Indiana.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by two sisters, Vesta Glessner of Lititz and Rita Cook of Punxsutawney and a grandson, David S. Thompson of Shippenville.

There will be no calling hours.

A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are under the direction of the William N. Rupert Mortuary, Inc. of Knox.
