PIAA District 9 Releases June 15 Committee Meeting Minutes

RIDGWAY, Pa. (D9Sports) – The District 9 committee held its monthly committee meeting June 15 at Aiello’s Cafe in Ridgway.

The most noteworthy items to come from the meeting included:

    • The committee was notified that a District 9 official, who wasn’t named in the minutes, was placed on probation for violating the PIAA Conflict of Interest Policy
    • A motion was passed unanimously that the cost of transcripts of hearings be passed on to the school district that requests the hearing.
    • The format for the 2016 – 2017 football playoffs was discussed. The football committee will meet prior to the next District 9 Committee meeting, which will be held at 9:30 a.m. Aug. 10 at Aiello’s Cafe with the football committee meeting at 8:30 a.m.
    • A motion was passed unanimously to recommend the 2016 – 2017 wrestling brackets remain with 20 participants.
    • An unnamed student-athlete who has transferred from Elk County Catholic to Johnsonburg has been granted athletic eligibility
