Pinecreek Elementary Students Create Special Christmas Gifts With Help From BAHS

BROOKVILLE, Pa. (EYT) — With the help of Mr. Jake Lewis’ wood shop’s students, second graders at Pinecreek Elementary created wooden snowmen for their parents for Christmas.

The whole project began with wood donated by Mr. Wayne Kocher, a retired teacher.

Second-grade students measured each other and sent the measurements to the wood shop. From there, BAHS students dried the wood, cut each piece to students’ measurements, sanded it, and sent it to Pinecreek Elementary for students to get to work.

Brookville High School students cut and sand wood for the elementary students.

Along with their teacher’s help, students painted, designed their snowman’s faces, added a poem, and wrapped them for home.

“These gifts serve as a special memory of their child’s second-grade year,” teacher Lauren Nosker said. “Shoutout to our amazing bus drivers for allowing these projects to be transported home in time for Christmas.”
