Pitt Trio of Young, Artis and Johnson Lead Panthers Past Morehead State

PITTSBURGH – Michael Young, Jamel Artis and Cameron Johnson combined for 53 points, as Pitt downed visiting Morehead State, 76-63, Friday night at the Petersen Events Center.

Young continued his strong play in the early going scoring a game-high 20 points to go with six rebounds and four assists. Artis added 17 points and five helpers while going 5 of 7 from 3-point range and Johnson had 16 points, six rebounds and four assists.

Pitt (5-1), which led 42-26 at halftime, hit 11 of 19 3-pointers and shot 49 percent (25 of 51) from the field including 15 of 29 before halftime.

DeJuan Marrero had a double-double for Morehead State (2-3) with 18 points and 13 rebounds.
