CAILEY BARNETT – SENIOR – PORT ALLEGANY

Daughter of: Darren and Julie Barnett
Sports Played: Soccer, Basketball and Softball
Family Members Playing/Played Sports: Mother; Julie Barnett. Father; Darren Barnett. Sister; Cortney Barnett. Aunts; Dawn Barnett, Laurie Strang, Becky Wymer. Uncles; Bruce Wymer, Nolan Wymer. Cousins; Josh Strang.
2018-19 Highlights: Led Port Allegany to the District 9 Class 2A playoff by averaging a team-best 13.4 points per game. She was named all-conference in basketball and softball … She enters her senior season in basketball with 879 career points.
Post-High School Plans: She plans to attend college to become a nurse anesthetist.

Q&A With Cailey Barnett

D9Sports: What is your favorite sport to participate in and why?
CB: Basketball because I absolutely love the game.

D9Sports: What is your favorite memory, moment, game from playing high school sports?
CB: My favorite memory is shooting after every practice with coach Allen Dehority.

D9Sports: Why do you play high school sports?
CB: I love sports and the atmosphere around them.

D9Sports: Who has had the most influence on your athletic career and why?
CB: My family. They were all about sports and always encouraged me to get involved and they helped me work on getting better.

D9Sports: If you could change one thing about high school sports, what would it be and why?
CB: I would change how administrations treat certain sports and athletes. I would want them to be treated and supported equally.

D9Sports: If you could be president for a day, what would be the one major thing you would do?
CB: Eliminate the hate with people’s religion, gender, and race.

D9Sports: What is your ideal place to live? County, City, Suburb? Why?
CB: Country, because nobody bugs you and you can have as many dogs as you want.

D9Sports: What would someone who doesn’t know you be surprised to find out about you?
CB: I’m brutally honest.

D9Sports: What is your strongest subject in school?
CB: English or health.

D9Sports: If there was one period in history or one event in history you could go back to, what would it be?
CB: When Martin Luther King Jr. gave his famous “I Have a Dream Speech.”

D9Sports: What question do you wish I would have asked you? And what is the answer to it?
CB: Are you excited to graduate? Heck yeah!
