Player Profile: Kelsie Terwilliger, A-C Valley


D9Sports.com and EYT Media are doing a series of player profiles on returning high-school athletes this summer. The year in school listed by the athlete is the year the athlete is entering this fall.

KELSIE TERWILLIGER – JUNIOR – A-C VALLEY

Daughter of: Kline & Holly Terwilliger

Sports Played: Softball and travel softball

2016-17 Highlights: Kelsie had an outstanding season for the Lady Falcons softball squad helping A-C Valley to the D9 Class 1A playoffs while being named a third-team All-KSAC performer.

Post-High School Goals: Kelsie plans on joining the air force, staying in the air force as long as she can and seeing where life takes her.

Q&A With Kelsie Terwilliger

D9Sports: What is your favorite sport to participate in?
KT: Softball

D9: What is your favorite memory, moment, game from playing high school sports?
KT: Hitting my first home run as a varsity softball player.

D9: Why do you play high school sports?
KT: I love the game, being competitive, and I love being surrounded by teammates/coaches that also have a lot of love for the game.

D9: Is there a high school player on your team or another team that you enjoy watching play? If so, why?
KT: I enjoy watching Cami McNany.She puts 110 percent into everything whether it’s a game or practice. She is very smart on the basepaths. She knows the game very well and she has been a great captain and role model to myself and our teammates.

D9: When not playing sports I would rather (pick one) – Go to work, play video games, shop, hang out with friends, play pickup sports, go the movies
KT: Pickup sports

D9: If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
KT: I would go to the Dominican Republic because I would find it interesting to help and teach children. I think it would be very rewarding.

D9: Who has had the most influence on you as a person?
KT: My parents would have the most influence on me. They have been very supportive of me, believed in me, taught me to believe in myself, and to work hard and I can accomplish anything If I put my mind to it.

D9: What do you like most about growing up in your hometown?
KT: It’s a nice small,quiet town with great people.

D9: What do you wish you could change about growing up in your hometown?
KT: Wish there would’ve been more kids my age growing up with.

D9: Do you or have you had any siblings or other immediate relatives who have played high school sports?
KT: Yes my sister, Brooke Terwilliger, and my cousins, Brady and Chase Terwilliger, have all been involved in school sports.
