Player Profile: Tyler Wolbert, North Clarion

TYLER WOLBERT – JUNIOR – NORTH CLARION

Son of: Jerry & Gretchen Wolbert

Sports Played: Basketball and Baseball

2016-17 Highlights: Tyler was a key contributor on the North Clarion baseball team that advanced to the District 9 Class 1A quarterfinals after a win over Clarion-Limestone in the opening round of the tournament. One of his top performances came in a 3-1 win over eventual PIAA runner-up Clarion that snapped the Bobcats 11-game win streak May 15 when he went 2-for-3 with two RBIs.

Post-High School Goals: Tyler would like to attend college and major in something that deals with math. He would consider playing baseball in college.

Q&A With Tyler Wolbert

D9Sports: What is your favorite sport to participate in?
TW: Baseball

D9: What is your favorite memory, moment, game from playing high school sports?
TW: Beating Clarion-Limestone my sophomore year in the playoffs in extra innings.

D9: Why do you play high school sports?
TW: For the love of the game and representing my school.

D9: Is there a high school player on your team or another team that you enjoy watching play? If so, why?
TW: No.

D9: When not playing sports I would rather (pick one) – Go to work, play video games, shop, hang out with friends, play pickup sports, go the movies
TW: Hang out with friends

D9: If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
TW: I would go to Alaska to fish.

D9: Who has had the most influence on you as a person?
TW: 13.My mom and dad because they are always there for me and help me strive to be the best I can be. Also, coach Andy Bish has helped me grow both as a player and individual.

D9: What do you like most about growing up in your hometown?
TW: Knowing everybody and having your friends right down the road from you.

D9: What do you wish you could change about growing up in your hometown?
TW: I wish there was somewhere to eat.

D9: What question do you wish I would have asked you? And what is the answer to it?
TW: If you could have a superpower what would it be? – invisibility.

D9: Do you or have you had any siblings or other immediate relatives who have played high school sports?
TW: Jake Wolbert
