Police: Big Run Man Puts Gun in Woman’s Face During Domestic Dispute

BIG RUN, Pa. (EYT) – Criminal charges have been filed against a Big Run man who allegedly put a gun in a woman’s face during a domestic dispute.

According to court documents, Punxsutawney-based State Police filed the following criminal charges against 33-year-old Stephen Robert Clark in Magisterial District Judge David B. Inzana’s office on Wednesday, May 18:

– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
– Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Misdemeanor 2
– Harassment – Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary

According to a criminal complaint, police received a call on Tuesday, May 17, from a known man stating his sister called him crying. She told him she was engaged in an altercation with Stephen Robert Clark involving a gun at a residence along Smyers Street, in Big Run Borough, Jefferson County.

Police spoke with the victim, who stated she went to Clark’s residence with her truck to pick up a bunk bed. While at the residence, she and Clark argued, and Clark then grabbed a gun and put it in her face, according to the complaint.

The victim told police she was able to get away from the residence and drove her truck to another location on Smyers Street.

She also stated that she had been running in the woods for the past two hours, the complaint states.

The victim did not report any injuries, nor were any visible, the complaint notes.

Numerous attempts were made to locate Clark but were met with negative results, and an arrest warrant was issued, the complaint states.

Clark was arraigned at 8:15 a.m. on Wednesday, May 18, in front of Judge Inzana.

He is currently free on $25,000.00 unsecured bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, July 5, at 12:15 p.m. with Judge Inzana presiding.
