Police: Byrnedale Teen Falls Asleep at Wheel, Crashes Car on Route 255

car-accident-graphic-5254_jpg_475x310_q85-300x225HUSTON TWP., Pa. (EYT) – State Police say around 5:30 p.m. on July 8, a one-car accident occurred on State Route 255 (Bennetts Valley Highway), west of Caliari Road, in Huston Township, Clearfield County.

According to police, 18-year-old Cole A. Butto, of Byrnedale, was traveling north on Route 255 and fell asleep, causing his 2003 Chrysler Concorde LX to drift across the opposing lane of travel, exit the left side of the roadway, and strike a ditch.

Butto escaped injury; he was using a seat belt.

The car sustained significant damage to its front end.

No airbags were deployed during the collision.

Butto was issued a traffic citation.

The car was towed from the scene by Bricen Towing.
