Police Detail Crash That Left Woman Seriously Injured

SNYDER TWP., Pa. (EYT) – State Police have released the details of a crash that sent one area woman to Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital on Saturday afternoon.

According to DuBois-based State Police, around 2:22 p.m. on Saturday, October 5, 77-year-old Terry L. Erickson, of Ridgway, was operating a 2017 Kia Sorento, traveling north on State Route 28 near Martini Road in Snyder Township.

Police say Erickson lost control of her vehicle and exited the eastern side of the road, then struck a culvert and traveled approximately 80 feet before coming to a final rest facing northeast.

Erickson and her passenger, 51-year-old Lori J. Herzog, of Ridgway, were both wearing seatbelts.

Herzog suffered suspected serious injuries and was transported to Penn Highlands DuBois by Brockway Area Ambulance Service.

Erickson was not injured.

The vehicle sustained minor front end damage and damage to the undercarriage and was towed from the scene by D&T Towing.

Erickson was cited for a lane violation.

Brockway Volunteer Hose Company and Dusan Community Ambulance also assisted at the scene.
