Police Investigate Hit-and-Run on Interstate 80 in Sandy Township

SANDY TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – DuBois-based State Police say a hit-and-run collision occurred on Interstate 80 in Sandy Township, Clearfield County.

Police say the accident occurred around 8:35 p.m. on February 19 as Santos Guzman Jr., 49, of Sumerset NJ, was traveling in the left lane of I-80 westbound near the 96.5 mile marker.

A car and a tractor-trailer passed Guzman in the right lane.

While the tractor-trailer was changing from the right lane to the left lane in front of Guzman, the driver’s side rear of the trailer struck the passenger’s side front of Guzman’s 2003 Freightliner Conventional, according to police.

The unknown driver of the tractor-trailer continued traveling west in the left lane while Guzman pulled over into the north berm of the roadway, police say.

It was reported that the tractor-trailer was a dirty white truck with a dirty white trailer, according to police.
