Police Investigating Hit-and-Run Accident on I-80 in Union Township

UNION TWP., Pa. (EYT) – State Police in DuBois are investigating a hit-and-run crash that occurred on Interstate 80 in Union Township on Saturday evening.

According to DuBois-based State Police, this accident happened around 6:20 p.m. on Saturday, March 18, on Interstate 80 East, near the 107 mile-marker, in Union Township, Jefferson County.

Police say 65-year-old Michael E. Sadler, of Philadelphia, Pa., was traveling east in a 2017 Freightliner Cascadia, while a Peterbilt tractor-trailer was also traveling eastbound behind it.

The unknown operator of the Peterbilt attempted to change lanes and struck Sadler’s truck and then continued eastbound without stopping, police say.

Sadler was using a seat belt and was not injured.

His truck sustained minor damages.

The investigation continues.
