Police Investigating Identity Theft in Bell Township

BELL TWP., Pa. (EYT) – State police are investigating an incident of identity theft in Bell Township.

According to Punxsutawney-based State Police, around 12:29 p.m., on Tuesday, May 12, an incident of identity theft was reported at a location on Charles Street in Bell Township, Jefferson County.

Police say an unknown suspect used a 34-year-old Punxsutawney man’s social security number to file taxes.

The investigation is ongoing.
