Police Release Details of Bell Township Crash

BELL TWP., Pa. (EYT) – State Police have released the details of a crash that occurred on State Route 219 in Bell Township on Wednesday.

According to police, around 2:57 p.m. on Wednesday, January 9, 29-year-old Steven D. Zimmerman of Johnstown was operating a 2003 International Harvester, traveling south on State Route 219/burnside McGee Highway, just north of Snyder Road.

Police say Zimmerman was negotiating a right turn when his vehicle lost traction and slid off the east side of the roadway, striking a guide rail.

The vehicle came to a final rest facing south.

Zimmerman was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured.

The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene by M&C Towing.

Mahaffey Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene with traffic control.
