Police Release Details of Crash Where SUV Overturned into Creek in Heath Township

HEATH TWP., Pa. (EYT) – DuBois-based State Police have released the details of a crash where an SUV overturned into a creek in Heath Township earlier this month.

According to police, the accident happened around 9:17 a.m. on August 18, on State Route 949, just south of Spring Creek Road, in Heath Township, Jefferson County.

Police say 66-year-old Ross K. Saline, of DuBois, was operating a 2016 Ford Explorer traveling eastbound on State Route 949 when, for unknown reasons, he lost control and struck a utility pole. The vehicle then overturned and came to a final rest on its roof in a small creek facing east.

Saline was using a seat belt and was not injured.

Polk Township Fire Department, Jefferson County EMS, United Electric, McCool Towing, and Windstream also assisted at the scene.

Saline was cited for a traffic violation.

DuBois-based State Police released the above report on Thursday, August 27, 2021.
