According to police, around 5:03 a.m. on May 31, a one-vehicle crash occurred on Rattlesnake Road near Bundy Settlement Road in Horton Township, Elk County.

Police say 20-year-old Hunter L. Vroman, of Reynoldsville, was operating a 2008 Ford Focus traveling north on Rattlesnake Road when he attempted to pass another vehicle just before a left curve. When he attempted to return to the northbound lane, he failed to observe the left curve ahead and was unable to successfully negotiate it. Vroman was wearing a seatbelt.

The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene by D&T Towing.

Horton Township Fire Police and West Penn Power also assisted at the scene.

Police say the crash is being investigated as a suspected DUI.

Vroman was also cited for careless driving.
