Police Release Details on Brady Township Crash; Three Sustain Major Injuries

BRADY TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – DuBois-based State police report that four were injured in a one-vehicle accident that occurred on Oklahoma Salem Road in Brady Township, Clearfield County.

This crash occurred at 8:20 p.m. on May 21, 2015 as 27-year-old Ashley R Vega, of Punxsutawney, was driving her 1998 Chevrolet Cavalier north on Oklahoma Salem Road in the right lane.

While rounding a left curve in the roadway, Vega lost control of her vehicle due to traveling too fast on the wet roads, according to police.

The vehicle slid west across the southbound lane of Oklahoma Salem Road and traveled off of the roadway.

Vega’s car traveled 45 feet along the west berm of the roadway before the front of the vehicle dug into the soft ground.

The vehicle then flipped end-over-end and traveled another 45 feet before coming to rest on its roof, facing south.

Vega and two of the three passengers were ejected from the vehicle when it overturned.

Police say that 26-year-old Erica J. Johnson, of Brockport, 32-year-old Christopher C. Lowmaster, of Reynoldsville, and 34-year-old Shawn M. Wolf, of Punxsutawney, were riding in the car as passengers when the crash occurred.

Vega, Johnson, and Lowmaster suffered major injuries in the accident and were transported by Amserv/Dusan Ambulance to Penn Highlands for treatment.

Wolfe only suffered minor injuries and was not transported from the scene.

Police say the driver and all three passengers were not wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.

Charges against Vega are pending further investigation.

Police were assisted at the scene by the Brady Township VFD and the Amserve/Dusan Ambulances.
