Police Release Details on Crash on Route 322, Two People Injured

PINE CREEK TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police say around 2:36 p.m. on January 29, a two-vehicle accident occurred on State Route 322, at its intersection with State Route 28, in Pine Creek Township, Jefferson County.

According to police, 60-year-old Martin J. Reynolds, of Rimersburg, and 64-year-old James L. McNutt, of Sigel, were involved in the collision.

Reynolds was traveling east on SR 322 in a 2004 Chevrolet Impala and attempted to make a left hand turn onto SR 28 and turned in front of a 2012 Subaru Outback driven by McNutt, police say.

The Subaru struck the Chevrolet in the westbound lane of travel, according to police.

The Subaru came to a final rest at impact facing north, and the Chevrolet came to rest at impact facing southeast.

Both drivers and a passenger in McNutt’s vehicle, 56-year-old Christy R. McNutt, of Sigel, were using seat belts.

Reynolds suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Brookville Emergency Room.

James McNutt was not injured.

Christy McNutt suffered minor injuries and was transported to Brookville Emergency Room.

Reynolds was charged with a traffic violation.

Pine Creek Township Fire Department assisted at the scene.
