Police Release Details on Crash that Left Amish Teen Seriously Injured

ambulance-blurry-6WEST MAHONING TWP., Pa. (EYT) – An Amish teen was seriously injured in a crash that occurred on State Route 954, in West Mahoning Township, Indiana County.

Police say 23-year-old Zachary M. Davis, of Graceton, and a 14-year-old male were involved in the crash.

According to police, Davis’ 2003 Pontiac Sunfire and a horse and wagon, operated by the teen, were traveling south on Route 954.

Police say Davis was traveling too fast for conditions, and his car struck the rear of the wagon. The wagon spun 180 degrees clockwise, and the 14-year-old operator was thrown from the vehicle.

The car came to a final rest in the southbound lane of travel facing south.

The horse and wagon came to a final rest in the southbound lane of travel facing north.

Davis suffered suspected minor injuries.

The 14-year-old suffered suspected serious injuries.

Dayton EMS assisted at the scene.
