Police Release Details on Three-Vehicle Collision, Four Injured

A moving ambulance on it''s way to a crash site.UNION TONWSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – DuBois-based State Police say a crash involving three vehicles occurred on Interstate 80, in Union Township, Jefferson County.

According to police, around 6:11 p.m. on February 18, 58-year-old Emanuel Donald, of Rembolt, TN, was traveling westbound in the right lane of I-80 near the 107.4 mile marker.

Donald then changed lanes and entered the left lane, failing to stop his 2011 Freightliner Cascada within a safe distance of two vehicles that were stopped due to traffic backlog.

Donald first impacted the rear of a 2014 Chevrolet Captivas driven by Hanno Behm, 58, of New Tripoli. After impact with Behm’s vehicle, Donald continued traveling westbound and impacted the right rear of a 2013 Chrysler Town & Country driven by Kevin S. Martinez, 23, of Salisbury, NC.

Donald’s vehicle came to a final rest in the left lane while Martinez’s vehicle came to a final rest on the left shoulder of the roadway.

Behm’s vehicle came to a final rest on the left embankment.

All three vehicles were facing west, according to police.

Martinez and his three passengers – Roy Rios, 27, of Union City, NJ; Kayla A. Crockford, 27, of Keller, TX; and Efrain C. Ramos, 30, of Keansburg, NJ – suffered injuries of unknown severity.

According to police, Martinez and his passengers were transported by AmServ LTD DuSan Ambulance to Penn Highlands DuBois hospital for treatment.

Donald and Behm were both uninjured in the collision.

Police say Donald was cited with a traffic violation.

PSP DuBois were assisted at the scene by PennDOT and Sandy Township Volunteer Fire Department.
