Police Release Details on Two-Vehicle Crash in Construction Zone on I-80, Washington Township

A moving ambulance on it''s way to a crash site.WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – DuBois-based State Police say around 2:04 p.m. on June 26, a two-vehicle accident occurred on Interstate 80 at Exit 90 eastbound on-ramp, in Washington Township, Jefferson County.

According to police, 84-year-old Dacia Vanantwerp, of Royal Oak, MI, and 49-year-old Brian A. Spangler, of East Rochester, PA, were involved in the collision.

Police say this crash occurred as a 2006 Chevrolet 3500, driven by Spangler, was traveling eastbound on I-80 in the left lane traveling through the construction zone.

A 2015 Chrysler 200, driven by Vanantwerp, attempted to enter onto I-80 eastbound in the construction zone from Exit 90 and was struck in the rear by Spangler’s Chevrolet, according to police.

Vanantwerp suffered minor injuries.

DuBois EMS transported her to Penn Highlands DuBois.

She was using a seat belt.

Spangler was not injured; he was also using a seat belt.

Vanantwerp was charged with a traffic violation.
