Police Report Another Incident at Jefferson County Jail, Two Correctional Officers Assaulted

PINECREEK TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – According to Punxsutawney-based State Police, around 10:50 a.m. on September 7, an incident of Aggravated Assault occurred at Jefferson County Jail, on Service Center Road, in Pinecreek Township, Jefferson County.

Police say a known 53-year-old male, of Punxsutawney, was refusing to leave his cell at the Jefferson County Jail.

A 43-year-old male Correctional Officer, of Marienville, attempted to handcuff the actor, and the actor struck him on the left side of the face with his right fist. A second male CO, of DuBois, entered the cell to assist in restraining the actor, and the actor proceeded to strike this CO on the top of the head with his right hand, according to police.

During the struggle, the actor also attempted to spit in the second CO’s face, police say.

The actor was eventually restrained and removed from his cell.

An investigation is ongoing and charges of Aggravated Assault, Simple Assault, and Harassment will be filed in District Court 54-3-03.
