According to police, 24-year-old Jacob R. Moyer, of Westover, was traveling south on State Route 1038 (East Creek Road) and negotiating a right hand curve.

Police say Moyer was traveling too fast for road conditions, as there were approximately 114 feet of brake marks from his 2007 Hyundai Elantra from the curve until Frye Cemetery Road. Then, the car slid approximately 96 feet across Frye Cemetery Road, which was snow-covered.

According to police, the car struck the guide rail end and then traveled approximately 12 feet before impacting a tree, and coming to a rest against the tree facing southeast.

It is unknown whether Moyer was injured in the crash.

He was charged with a traffic violation.
