Police Respond to New Washington Borough Crash

NEW WASHINGTON, Pa. (EYT) – A two-vehicle crash occurred on Thursday evening in New Washington Borough.

Punxsutawney-based State Police say around 5:19 p.m. on Thursday, May 17, a two-vehicle crash occurred as a 2005 Hyundai Elantra and a 2008 Volkswagon Jetta were traveling westbound along a two-lane blacktop surface roadway designated as Town Road in New Washington Borough, Clearfield County.

According to police, the Hyundai was traveling westbound and the Volkswagon was trailing behind it. The Hyundai came to a stop in the westbound lane, changed gears to reverse, and proceeded backward.

The Hyundai impacted the Volkswagon’s front bumper in the one o’clock position. The Volkswagon sustained minor cosmetic damages and paint transfer.

The owners of both vehicles exchanged required financial responsibility information.

The owner of the Volkswagon remained on scene and requested to speak to a police officer.

No injuries were reported and both vehicles were able to be driven from the scene.
