Police Respond to One-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 80

SANDY TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Police have released information surrounding a one-vehicle crash along Interstate 80 on Tuesday.

According to DuBois-based State Police, the crash occurred around 2:19 p.m. on Tuesday, August 9, along Interstate 80 in Sandy Township, Clearfield County.

Police say a 2004 Ford Mustang operated by 29-year-old Joseph H. Lowe, of State College, was traveling east in the left lane when a tire “broke traction” with the roadway, causing the vehicle the strike a guide rail on the north shoulder.

Lowe’s vehicle then rotated around one time before coming to a final rest, partially on the left travel lane of I-80 east.

McCandless Towing assisted at the scene.

Lowe and his passenger, 28-year-old Victoria L. Patterson, of Lemoyne, escaped the crash without injury.

Both occupants were using a seat belt.
