Police: Reynoldsville Woman Escapes Injury in Suspected DUI Crash

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police say around 12:54 p.m. on June 13, a hit and run accident occurred on State Route 310, 200 feet north of Oak Street, in McCalmont Township, Jefferson County.

According to police, 24-year-old Angeline E. Pearce, of Reynoldville, was involved in the collision.

Police say this one vehicle crash occurred as Pearce was traveling south on SR 310 in a 2003 Ford Expedition.

The vehicle went off the west side of the roadway and hit an embankment. It continued south approximately 100 feet before striking a set of concrete steps causing damage to the passenger side front tire, according to police.

The vehicle subsequently returned to the roadway and traveled south on SR 310 for approximately 4.5 miles before coming to a final rest on North Findley Street at Lewis Street, in Punxsutawney Borough.

Pearce was using a seat belt and was not injured.

She was charged with a traffic violation.

According to police, Pearce was subsequently taken for a legal blood draw for suspicion of DUI.

Other charges are pending further investigation.
