Police Say Speed Contributed to Crash in McCalmont Township

MCCALMONT TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Police say speed was a factor in a crash that occurred late last week in McCalmont Township.

According to police, around 10:20 p.m. on July 22, a one-vehicle crash occurred on Kramer Road just east of Native Road.

Police say 20-year-old Trey A. Danner, of Reynoldsville, was operating a 2005 Pontiac Grand Am traveling southwest and negotiating a downhill right curve when he under-compensated and proceeded directly through the turn. The vehicle then struck an embankment, continued along the embankment, re-entered the roadway, and came to a final rest on the oncoming lane, facing west.

According to police, Danner then fled the scene on foot without reporting the crash.

The vehicle was subsequently towed from the scene.

Police say Danner was then contacted and admitted to being the driver of the vehicle when it crashed.

He was cited for a speed violation.
