Police Seek Information on Porter Township Hit-and-Run

state_policePORTER TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – According to Punxsutawney-based State Police, around 6:30 a.m. on September 4, a hit-and-run crash occurred on Fairview Road, at McDonald Lane, in Porter Township, Jefferson County.

Police say an unidentified driver was traveling south on Fairview Road when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle left the west berm.

The vehicle traveled approximately 36 feet before impacting a post containing two mailboxes, according to police.

The vehicle then came to final rest at impact.

Police say that the driver backed up and then fled the scene.

The vehicle is described as a late 1990’s to early 2000’s dark-gray Jeep Cherokee.

It is believed to be a Sport or Limited model vehicle.

Identifiable damage would be to the driver’s side bumper, marker light and grill.
