Police Seek Information on Hit and Run in Jefferson County

OLIVER TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police say around 11:30 p.m. on May 15, a hit and run accident occurred on Coolspring Road, 213 feet east of State Route 36, in Oliver Township, Jefferson County.

According to police, an unidentified vehicle was traveling east on Coolspring Road, left the roadway, and struck a mailbox, a utility pole, and a traffic sign, located off the eastbound berm.

The vehicle then crossed over the westbound lane and traveled into a field, drove east through the field, and then re-entered Coolspring Road, police say.

The vehicle fled the scene in an eastern direction, according to police.

Police say the vehicle is possibly a 1999-2002 GMC Sierra, blue/gray in color. The vehicle has damage to the right front and right side; it is also missing the passenger side tail light assembly.
