Police Seek Information on Hit and Run on Route 119

NORTH MAHONING TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police say around 1:00 a.m. on December 19, a hit and run accident occurred on State Route 119, 902 feet south of Leasure Run Road, in North Mahoning Township, Indiana County.

According to police, an unidentified vehicle was traveling north on SR 119 and failed to negotiate a left hand curve on the icy roadway.

Police say the vehicle traveled off the SR 119 east berm and impacted with a T.W. Phillips Gas line marker which was located approximately 20 feet off the roadway.

After impacting with the gas line marker, the vehicle continued traveling north through a field and then impacted a utility pole which was located approximately 10 feet off SR 119.

The vehicle left the scene traveling north on SR 119, police say.

T.W. Phillips and Verizon assisted at the crash scene.
