UPDATE: Police Seek Information on Massive Fire in DuBois; Damages Estimated at $500K

Gibby's DUBOIS, Pa. (EYT) – DuBois-based State Police say around 10:15 a.m. on January 5, a fire occurred at 17 N. Franklin Street, in DuBois, Clearfield County.

According to police, DuBois Fire Departments were dispatched to a fire at the “Gibby’s” building, a 4-story, brick structure located at the above described location.

According to a published article in Gant Daily, aerial units from Reynoldsville Station 6, Sandy Township Station 36, and Brockway Station 1 assisted at the scene. Additional units from Oklahoma Station 38 and Reynoldsville Station 6 were also called to the scene.

Medic 43 personnel and American Red Cross also assisted at the scene due to the inclement temperatures.

Sources say the roadway for the entire section of downtown DuBois was closed while firefighters supplied water.

The Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal Unit was requested to investigate the origin and cause of the fire.

At this time, the cause is still undetermined.

The investigation continues.

Anyone with information about the fire, including anyone with a video or photographs of the fire at its early stages, is asked to contact the Fire Marshal.

Damages are estimated at $500,000.00.
