Car Slams into Storage Units in Glen Campbell; Flees Scene

state_policeGLEN CAMPBELL BORO, Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police say a hit and run crash occurred yesterday at Stash & Go Storage, located on State Route 286 East, in Glen Campbell Borough, Indiana County.

According to police, sometime between 12:01 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. on November 10, an unidentified motor vehicle struck a storage facility building at Stash & Go Storage located in Glen Campbell.

The unidentified vehicle failed to stop at a posted stop sign located at the intersection of Glenwood Avenue and State Route 286. The vehicle traveled through the intersection, collided with the storage facility building, and caused significant structural damage, police say.

During the collision with the storage building, the vehicle also struck a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado truck that was being stored in a storage unit at this location. The truck also sustained damage during the crash, according to police.

The operator of the vehicle fled the scene in an unknown direction prior to PSP arriving and failed to report this crash as required, police say.

The vehicle involved in this crash is black in color (dull/flat black) and sustained severe front end damage (bumper and headlamp missing). The subject vehicle is possibly a Toyota or Honda car that was outfitted with an aftermarket front bumper, according to police.

The investigation continues.
