Police Seeking Information on String of Burglaries in Jefferson Co.

State PoliceSNYDER TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Police say a burglary occurred at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7252 located on Route 219, in Snyder Township, Jefferson County.

DuBois-based State Police say sometime between 3:30 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. on November 26, an unknown perpetrator(s) cut the exterior wires of the Brockway VFW and then entered the establishment.

The perpetrator(s) then proceeded to break open numerous vending machines – ATM, ticket, cigarette, and touch tunes – and removed all of the money, according to police.

The perpetrator(s) also stole money from envelopes and bank bags that were behind the bar area, police say.

The perpetrator(s) then fled the scene in an unknown direction, according to police.

There has been a string of burglaries at social club in the area.

Police say the public and social clubs can assist by being more attentive during the morning hours near the clubs.

Report any suspicious vehicles or persons near the clubs to the police.
