Police Searching for Driver of Vehicle That Struck Two Sykesville Teens Heading to Bus Stop

investigationSYKESVILLE, Pa. (EYT) – Two pedestrians were struck by an unidentified vehicle yesterday on East Main Street and North Park Street, in Sykesville Borough, Jefferson County.

According to DuBois-based State Police, around 6:43 a.m. on January 29, a 16-year-old female and a 16-year-old male, both of Sykesville, were walking across E. Main Street heading to their bus stop. An unidentified vehicle was traveling from North Park Street onto East Main Street and struck both victims. The driver did not stop and continued away from the scene.

A witness on the scene related that the vehicle was possibly a small dark blue or black SUV. The vehicle may have minor damage to its front right side.

The 16-year-old male was transported to Penn Highland Hospital and later released.

This investigation continues.
