Police Still Searching for Child Rape Suspect

SHIPPENVILLE, Pa. (EYT) – The search for a Shippenville man wanted on 865 felony charges in a child rape case continues.

Police say 46-year-old Garrick Landon Bloom is described as a white male, 5’5″ tall, and weighing 300 lbs. with brown hair and blue eyes. He also wears eyeglasses.

Trooper Norbert, of the Clarion-based State Police, filed the following charges against Bloom on January 16 at Magisterial District Judge Amy Long Turk’s office:

  • Rape of a Child, Felony 1 (216 counts)
  • Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse with a Child, Felony 1 (216 counts)
  • Aggravated Indecent Assault of Child, Felony 1 (216 counts)
  • Statutory Sexual Assault, Felony 2 (216 counts)
  • Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Felony 3

The charges stem from multiple incidents that occurred in Shippenville Borough dating back to 2007.
