Police: Suspect Charged After Assaulting Sleeping Victim

Police car lightsBROOKVILLE, Pa. (EYT) – Brookville Police were called to Madison Avenue for a report of an assault.

According to police, around 4:30 a.m. on April 16, a known perpetrator entered a residence and struck the resident while he was asleep.

After talking to the resident, it was also discovered that the known suspect was told that a vehicle he was using was to be back at the residence at a specific time, and it had not been returned, police say.

After being unable to contact the suspect for an extended period of time, charges are being filed at Magistrate Bazylak’s office for the following offenses:

  • Simple Assault
  • Disorderly Conduct
  • Harassment
  • Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle

The name of the suspect was not released.
