Man Cited for Speeding in Burnside Township Crash

BURNSIDE TWP., Clearfield Co., Pa. (EYT) – A Mahaffey man was cited for speeding after he was involved in a traffic accident Saturday morning in Burnside Township.

According to Punxsutawney-based State Police, Ronald J. Marshall, 20, was driving a 2006 Pontiac G6 north on Route 219 at 11:31 a.m. when he failed to negotiate a slight, left curve and traveled off the roadway and hit a guide rail.

The vehicle then re-entered the road and spun in a counter-clockwise direction before spinning in a clockwise direction, crossing the road and hitting an embankment. The vehicle then traveled about 60 feet before hitting the end of the guide rail and stopping.

Marshall was wearing a seat belt and wasn’t injured.

Cherrytree Volunteer Fire Department and Smitty’s Towing assisted police at the scene.
