Charges Pending in Three-Vehicle Crash on Route 36

Police sirenGASKILL TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police say charges are pending in a December 5 three-vehicle crash along Route 36.

Punxsutawney-based State Police say the accident happened around 6:20 a.m. near the roadway’s intersection with Winslow Road and Jackson Run Road.

Police say David R. Painter, 59, of Glen Campbell, was traveling eastbound on Winslow Road approaching its intersection with SR-36 when he failed to stop at a posted stop sign.

Painter’s 2012 Toyota Yaris proceeded through the intersection and collided with a 2005 Chevrolet Colorado operated by John A. Pape of Mahaffey and then struck a 2007 Peterbilt operated by Trevor P. Dobbins, 40, of Punxsutawney.

Painter and Pape suffered injuries as a result and were transported to Punxsutawney Hospital via ambulance.

Police say Painter’s injuries are considered moderate. Pape’s injuries are listed as minor.

Jefferson County EMS and Central and Big Run Fire Departments assisted at the scene.

Charges are pending against Painter, according to police.
