Teen Falls Asleep at Wheel, Crashes into Utility Pole, House in McCalmont Township

MCCALMONT TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A teen crashed his vehicle into a utility pole and then a house after falling asleep at the wheel on State Route 310 in McCalmont Township.

According to Punxsutawney-based State Police, around 6:41 a.m. on July 2, 19-year-old Kyle R. Crise, of Rural Valley, was traveling north on State Route 310, in McCalmont Township, Jefferson County, and fell asleep.

His 2005 Chevrolet 3500 pickup traveled off the right shoulder of the roadway and struck a utility pole with its right front fender and then traveled approximately 93 feet and struck a residence. The pickup traveled approximately 42 feet from the second impact to its final rest facing northwest.

He was using a seat belt and was not injured.

He was charged with a traffic violation.
