Punxsutawney Teen Injured in Rollover Crash in Perry Township

A moving ambulance on it''s way to a crash site.PERRY TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police say around 9:00 p.m. on March 6, a one-car accident occurred on State Route 536, north of Scott Road, in Perry Township, Jefferson County.

According to police, 18-year-old Alexxis M. Cielo, of Punxsutawney, was traveling west on Route 536, and “an alleged deer ran onto the road from the right berm.”

Cielo applied the brakes and her 2005 Honda Civic traveled approximately 267 feet from the west berm across both lanes of travel and struck an embankment on the east berm. The car spun counterclockwise and flipped over, then traveled approximately 48 feet before coming to a final rest on its roof facing north, police say.

Jefferson County EMS transported Cielo to Punxsutawney ER for treatment of suspected minor injuries.

Perry Township and Lindsay Fire Departments assisted at the scene.
